Hi everyone! Sorry we've not been blogging this week. We've been so busy due to Christmas, and playing with Billy (he's home from school), that we've been forgetting about our blog altogether. I promised Melinda that I'd write a blog post, and I was going to show you all the bright orange tutu that Santa gave me. Something much more exciting has happened today though! I have my own Twitter account (@OddSockTOWG, in case any of you tweet - I love making new friends!) Today I joined a great group called #TheAviators. They are a group of animals and stuffed animals who fly missions. I've been given my membership goggles, as you can see in my portrait. I even got to go on my first training flight in a Spitfire airplane! Oh, and I wanted to tell you that our Nativity Play went really well on Christmas Eve. I did forget all my lines, but that was OK, as I invented some even better ones! Bye for now Odd Sock xx

Hi everyone, Melinda here! I think that I'd better write today's post, as the Top of the Wardrobe Gang are all very nervous about doing their Nativity play. Odd Sock wanted me to remind you of her poem above, which sparked of this little play of theirs. They will be performing it after lunch, in front of me, Billy's parents, and his Nan and sister. Very appropriately, the gang's Advent calendar had a scene with baby Jesus in a manger behind today's window! In case we don't catch you tomorrow, wishing you all a very Happy Christmas, or a Happy Holiday if you celebrate something else! From Melinda and all of the Top of the Wardobe Gang ❤️😊 Hi everyone! We've been practising our nativity play again a bit today. We also spent the afternoon curled up with Melinda and Billy on the sofa, watching "The Velveteen Rabbit" DVD. It was very Christmassy, and had a happy ending, but we all cried a bit, because some of it was quite sad. Do you like my Christmas bauble photo? Melinda helped me to make it on her iPad. I think it's great! Oh, and today we got a bunch of green leaves with white berries behind our Advent Calendar window. Melinda says it's mistletoe, and that people kiss under it at Christmas. (We aren't quite sure why, and we think that's a yucky idea!) Just one more window left now! (I really hope Santa remembers to visit us!) Hi everyone! We've had a really busy day today! We've been practising our little nativity play, making our costumes and painting the scenery. We all know our lines well now, and we can't wait to perform our play on Christmas Eve! Billy wanted to be involved, so we made him our Director. He's also making tickets to hand out to his family. We managed to convince one of Chloe's girl dolls to play Mary, so that Odd Sock can wear her angel costume. (The rest of us refused to play a girl!) We still haven't found a tiny baby doll to play Jesus though, so a bundle of cloth might have to do. Oh, and today we had a gingerbread man behind the window of our Advent calendar. We've only got two more windows left now! Hi everyone! Buster dog here again! The weather here's been horrible and wet outside today, so we've been curled up next to Billy on the sofa watching Christmas films! We also helped Billy wrap up some presents he'd made for his Mum, Dad, sister and Nan. Odd Sock got Sellotape stuck all over her, and wouldn't let us pull it off again because it hurt! (Billy's Mum has just spent ages slowly removing the sticky strips, with Odd Sock sitting on her knee.) We had a sack of toys behind our Advent Calendar window today. We're all hoping Santa has our toys wrapped and ready now... Hi everyone! We've had loads of fun today! Billy is on holiday now, so we all went with him to see Santa Claus! We all sat on Santa's knee at the same time (it was a bit crowded). Then we took it in turns to tell Santa what we wanted for Christmas, just in case he hadn't got our letters! We let Billy go first. He wants a sledge, but that will not be much fun to play with unless we get some snow here on Christmas Day. Terry Tigger still has his heart set on a pogo stick. He has even picked an extra long sock for his stocking, just to make sure it will fit in! I'd like a new dressing-up outfit - something colourful! Then I went out in the garden to help Billy and his Mum collect some holly, which the three of us made into a wreath for our front door! That was very apt, as we had a frondoor with a Christmas wreath on it on our Advent Calendar today! (Oh, and yesterday we had a bright wooden train.) Bye for now ❤️ Hi Everyone! Just one week to go until Christmas now! We've all been trying to be extra good today, to make sure Santa remembers us! We've been really tidy, despite doing some more work on our next book. Even Odd Sock managed not to leave any messy paw paint prints around! We're off to bed again now. Oh, and today we had a penguin under today's Advent Calendar window! Hi there! Sorry we didn't blog yesterday. Everyone is working very hard on illustrating the poems for our new book at the moment. Well, most of us have been working very hard, anyway. PD Monkey got a bit bored with drawing today, so decided to play catch with Terry Tiger over the top of their painting easel. This got very messy, as they knocked over some paints and a water jar with paintbrushes in it. Billy's Mum put a stop to it, and the two of them are still cleaning up now! We are getting very excited, as Billy will soon be finishing his first full term at School. It will be great having him home to play with us for the whole of the Christmas holidays! Oh, and behind the windows of our Advent calendar, we got an elf yesterday, and Rudolph the reindeer today. Hi everyone! I thought it was time to get my Christmas hat out! We all loved watching "Despicable Me" last night. It was just as good as their second film, and we were all rolling around on the floor laughing! We are just chatting and chilling around the Christmas tree today. Odd Sock has gone to the park with Billy, so she can't make us practise our Nativity Play again. We may have to hide when she gets back. We think our play sounds brilliant just as it is (as long as Terry Tiger remembers his lines), so we really don't want to practise it any more! Oh, and we got a Christmas bauble behind the window of our Advent calendar today! Hi there! We finished putting all the decorations on our tree before Billy got home from school yesterday. Billy loved it, and we were rather pleased with ourselves. I got Melinda to put a photo of our tree below, so you can all see it too. Today I'm trying to get the gang to practise our little nativity play. I was hoping we could perform it on Christmas Eve for Billy, his parents, and Melinda. The others are not really concentrating very well though! Billy goes to a friend's birthday party this evening, so we are all going to stay in and watch the film "Despicable Me" on DVD. We all thought the second film was hilarious, so were very excited when Melinda lent the first one to us. We can't wait to watch it! Oh, and this morning we had a robin behind the window on our Advent Calendar. |
